Screencode – Offline File Transfer Rollerbush

The Screen code app lets you privately share files and text through your screen with nearby friends, without any connectivity. The receiver launches the Screen code scanner to read and extract the content being sent. Very simple to use A Screen code is similar to a barcode or qr code, but contains much more information and can be used to transfer data between devices without any carrier, mobile network, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC or similar.
The main idea behind the user interface is classic: copy and move files from one panel to another. Simple. Also, to not overload the display with extra check boxes, file selection is made as follows: each file row is divided by two zones: tapping on the left you open files and folders, tapping on the right you select multiple items. If you are left handed, that could be swapped in the settings.

  • easy sorting by name, extension, size or date
  • customizable multi select by tapping, or select by wildcards
  • root / superuser mode: remount partitions and make changes in system files
  • change file owner and permissions in root mode only
  • modifying files on external SD card via the Storage Access Framework mode
  • ZIP archive support: create and extract ZIP files, view inside a ZIP without extracting
  • built-in FTP client: upload to/download from your own site or a public one
  • favorite shortcuts for folders and locations
  • calculation of file and folder size and MD5 and SHA-1
  • file search by content and other properties

Using Method

Simply share any file or text from your favorite app and select "Screen code" in the share sheet to start. Nothing else required. Then launch the Screen code app on the receiver device to start the scanner and try to fit the sending screen within the aiming guide. That's pretty much it.
